Wilson Clobbers Grand Slam to Lead Wranglers to Victory
Big "Z" Zach Wilson clobbered a Grand Slam homerun deep to centrefield as the Wranglers defeated the Sarnia Braves Minor Peewees 13-1.  Wilson became the third different Wrangler to hit an out of the park homerun in the first 3 games joining Jace McGrail and Tyler Kerby who homered in Games 1 and 2 respectively.

The Wranglers got off to a slow start only plating one run through the opening two innings despite having runners in scoring position in both innings.  They added single runs  by Tristan Nemcek, Jack Helps, and Tyler Kerby in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th innings before erupting for 6 runs in the top of the 5th.

In the fifth inning, Nemcek and Noel Sanderson led off with back to back singles, Will Hull walked to load the bases, then Tyler Kerby walked to bring home a run setting the table for Zach Wilson's bomb to centre to clear the bases. Jace McGrail then doubled off the fence and was later brought home on a Jack Helps single.  The Wranglers would score 4 more in the 7th on 4 consecutive hits by Hull, Maitland, Kerby, and Wilson.

Once again pitching proved to be solid and four Wranglers pitchers scattered 6 hits while striking out 7 Braves batters through 7 complete innings.  Nemcek, Sanderson, Douglas, and King took care of business on the mound pounding the strike zone all night and only walking 2 batters.  Calling the game behind the plate were Miller Mailloux, Maitland and Brody McRae.

Defensively, the Wranglers were shuttled around to various positions and all players played well and made plays when needed. Only one error was made that contributed to the only Braves run on a rather cool evening at historic Tecumseh Park.

In three games so far, 11 Wranglers have toed the rubber with two more pitchers set to go next week.

The Wranglers practice Sunday at 6pm before another busy week with the home opener at Canton Park Monday May 28th vs North London, then in London Wednesday vs Badgers Minor Peewees, Sunday vs Chatham Minors, and Monday vs Exeter Express.

Keep it Going Wranglers.
